flu
To get over a flu take these ingredients:
Lots of tea.
A cat.
Big bed.
Watch two seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in three days.
Trust me, it seems to work.

Get laid, man
This just cracked me up:
“In a wide-ranging interview, Mrs. Bush put her stamp of approval on sexual abstinence programs, which would have their doubled under the president’s latest budget proposal. Abstinence should be extensively discussed alongside contraception, she said. ‘I do think abstinence works. We know it works,’ she said. ‘It’s 100 percent fail-safe.’” link
I am certainly taking something out of context here, but is that why Bush is so on edge and wants to attack everybody? The man just needs to get laid? Won’t anyone step up to the plate and take on for the team in order to further world peace?
Now that would be a dedicated peace activist.

BBC World has this quote from President George W. Bush on the gay weddings currently goign on is San Francisco:
“I’m troubled by what I’ve seen,” he added. “People need to be involved with this decision. Marriage ought to be defined by the people not by the courts, and I’m watching it carefully.” link
I would say if thousands of people get married in a matter of days the people have spoken. It is after all people, real actual breathing human beings, that are getting married, not courts. And if two people that have been together for 51 years as a couple finally get hitched (link) it is wrong, but if two people that have just met each other can get married any time, and as often as they want, maybe we need a little more “wrong” in the world.

The light at the end of the tunnel
Without jinxing anything, I wanted to pass this along:
“The poll, taken Feb. 16-17, indicates that if the election were held today, Kerry would be chosen by 55% of likely voters, compared to 43% for Bush. In the last polling, Feb. 6-8, Bush held a 49-48 advantage.
Edwards, Kerry’s sole remaining major rival for the Democratic nomination, holds a 54%-44% advantage, the poll indicates. The question has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.” link

Talk about carats. Maybe I can get my wife this next year for Valentine’s Day. I mean, how much could it be?

morons in charge
I simply had to comment on this statement by a high UPN exec. According to thisTri City Herald article Enterprise may be cancelled next season. But the real kicker is the moronic way in which it was announced.
“You see the new stuff, you see the old stuff, and you compare and say, ‘What is the better schedule?’ So it’s not like, ‘Gee, if Enterprise is up 10 percent between now and May, it will get picked up.’ It’s rather - you know, it’s not a science, but it’s, ‘All right. How do we build Wednesday better?’ ‘Does it include Enterprise?’ Very possibly. ‘Does it not?’ Possibly as well.” link

Bush: ‘intelligence lacking’
“At that point in the interview Russert might as well have walked out and got some coffee, as Bush was clearly … running off the points his advisers had laid out for him in advance.”

I am a huge fan of the TV show West Wing. My appreciation of the show is so high because it’s very realistic. Even the scenes that seem far fetched aren’t really. There are after all “real life” events such as this:
Remarks by the President to the Press Pool
Nothin’ Fancy Cafe - Roswell, New Mexico
