From the comments on a post about the draft:

There are many, many reasons why I will vote for Kerry tomorrow (early vote). But, my flesh and blood - my two sons - are my main reason.

I know this war could have been avoided. It should have been avoided if we didn?t have plenty of our traditional allies to help with the cost in terms of money and lives.

My younger son is caught up in the rhetoric of the Bush administration and is determined to join the Army next year when he turns 18. I refused to sign papers to allow him to join at age 17. He has a Hollywood=video game mentality about war - he is too young in my opinion to go over there and be blasted to kingdom come.

I don?t trust Bush to tell the truth. I firmly believe that if he is elected, he will certainly take that as a mandate to do as he wishes, including instituting a draft and calling on us all to potentially sacrifice our sons and daughters for a war that could have been better planned, to say the least. Thanks for the chance to comment.

There is little I can ad to that. Even if there isn’t a draft the Bush administration is said to have a list of 60 countries they would like to see a regime change in.
