My first podcast is now available: sebimeyer2004-11-19.mp3

Links and liner notes inside.

Update: I guess I spoke too soon. There are problems with WP’s RSS feed. To subscribe to this podcast please use this feed and not the site’s general RSS.

The software I use to create the podcast compliant RSS 2.0 stream (and the rest of this page, for that matter) is WordPress 1.3. It’s a daily built so it may contain some bugs, but for me it’s been been pretty stable. If you don’t mind playing with pre-release software, you can download it here. More information on WordPress can be found here.

The blog I mentioned as a widely read political blog is Talkingpointsmemo.com , operated by Josh Marshall.

Democracy now airs simultaneously on TV and Radio on about 270 stations in the U.S. It’s also aired live via RealAidio (video as well as audio) at democracynow.org/.
A podcast is available here but since it’s not operated by the makers of the show it sometimes takes a day for shows to show up in the feed. Definitely a show worth checking out though.

A good article of how Ahmed Chalabi influenced the media is How Chalabi played the press, which appeared in the Columbia Journalism Review in August.

Background information on the FCC here via wikipedia.

The full session of BloggerCon III that talked about journalism is available for download here

Greg Palasts story and video on the voter purge list in Florida is here.

Jaime Dempsey, the person without this podcast would still be only an idea, has a blog here
